TitansSeniors at Confluence Preparatory Academy will experience the moment they have dreamed of since the first day of high school – graduation.

As only the fourth graduating class in school history, the Class of 2015 reflects a growing and developing high school.

Confluence Preparatory Academy will celebrate commencement on May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sun Theatre at Grand Center Arts Academy, 3625 Grandel Square.

CPA Grad 2014Fifty-four graduates will receive diplomas; 12 are members of the National Honor Society. Most graduates plan to attend college. Students were accepted to colleges and universities across the state and the region, both two- and four-year schools; some will join the military. As of mid-May, scholarship earnings were approximately $325,000, and several students qualified for the Missouri A+ Schools Program to attend a two-year community college in the state.

Three seniors earned full college scholarships: Aska Arnold, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff; Kreg Stewart, Missouri State University; and Destiny Leonard, Southeast Missouri State University.

This year’s graduation speaker is Koran Bolden, motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur and youth advocate. Bolden, a St. Louis native, has worked with students throughout the city, including CPA, to advocate for youth leadership and youth empowerment. He is the author of ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors: 3 Secrets How Failure Can Make You Famous.’

Confluence Preparatory Academy is the first high school in the network of Confluence Charter Schools. It opened in 2008 on the campus of Confluence Academy-South City with ninth grade students. In 2009, CPA moved downtown, next to the Central St. Louis Library, opening its doors to ninth and 10th grade students. The school is sponsored by University of Missouri-Columbia.
