In an effort to build support between the community and the school, Confluence Academy-Walnut Park is hosting a Pastors Breakfast on November 20 at 9:00 a.m.

It is an outreach effort to area churches to “support our school and students with mentoring, tutoring, reading to students, serving as volunteers, supporting character education for students and more,” said Leslie Muhammad, academy director.

“We expect a partnership to evolve which will help support and improve our school. It will also help get the community involved. This is just a small step in the grassroots effort of getting churches, then businesses and area politicians to help support Walnut Park,” said Muhammad.

Dr. Harvey Fields, a member of the Confluence Board of Directors, and Sheldon McAfee, principal at Walnut Park, will serve as guest speakers.
